Even the best golfers are always up for tips; any free information from anyone should always be absorbed like a sponge. Especially when they make some since to you. So here are a few that should definitely make a difference in your over all game.

Most of these tips have to do with the mental aspects of the game. You must have your mind in sink with what you want. This is pretty easily explained; if you go out with this doubt OR fear of not being able to drive, chip or put the ball, then you will be correct. Just think of this, you are already setting your self up to fail, and our bodies naturally find ways satisfy our mind. Sounds crazy, but very true! So first thing is first, go out there with a POSITIVE mind set… that alone will amaze you.

Secondly, make sure you go out there with a good mental mood. You have heard someone say your mood affects your work; well the same applies to your golf game. If you are in a horrible mood, the WORST thing you can do for your self is go out and play some golf. Your mood with show right through your golf game and you will more then likely come out of the game with more frustration then when you came into it. So do your self a favor… If your mood isn’t in sink, try just driving some balls rather then playing 18 holes!!

Another thing you can do is while you’re out there, do some positive self talk!! Sounds kind of funny I know but if you are a believer in affirmations then THIS is the time to do it. While your setting up that first tee, just say to your self, wow this one is truly going to fly, it’s going to go at least 200yrd.. or what ever your best drive is… Don’t say things like, wow that water is awfully close, I sure hope I don’t hit it in there, because really mind tends to miss certain words or “thoughts” your mind could be hearing this, “wow close water, hit it in there” Sooo the best way to deal with that is yet again POSITIVE THING!! What you should say is, wow that is super easy, and my ball is going to fly right over the water… Do you understand what I’m saying? It’s all about keeping those negative thoughts out of your subconscious mind… Try to keep certain words out of your head such as…. Can’t, Don’t, No, impossible… etc. You can always change those into positives… Try it, you will be surprised!

Hopefully I have shed some light on the subject of your mental mindset, and just how important it really is in your golf game!!
