Are you looking for the latest technology to boost your golf game? Look no further than your kitchen. Changing you eating habits before, during and even after a round of golf may be just the boost you need to take your game to a new level.

Most golf lessons focus on teaching you the mechanics of the golf swing, which are certainly important, but to be at your best, you should also focus on the mechanics of your body.

Here are 4 snack foods that you should be eating to help improve your overall well being on and off the golf course. Not only are these foods readily available and easy to prepare, but they are easy to transport to the golf course. Keep these foods in your golf bag to help you play your best.

To Improve Vision: Eat Carrots

Your vision is a key factor to playing your best golf. Eating carrots can greatly enhance blood flow and function of the eyes. Improving your vision can help you gauge your distances, read putts and help you see the ball flight so that you can find your ball more easily.

To Improve Endurance: Eat Tomatoes

Playing golf 4 to 5 hours requires a tremendous amount of endurance. Since tomatoes are loaded with lycopene (lycopene is an antioxidant the body uses to dispose of toxics, fight disease and repair tissue), eating tomatoes before you play golf can help improve blood flow to the heart and increase your endurance so that you can play your best the entire round.

To Improve Focus: Eat Walnuts.

Walnuts are one of the best plant sources of protein. They are rich in fiber, B vitamins, magnesium, and antioxidants such as vitamin E. Nuts in general are also high in plant sterols and fat – but mostly monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats (omega 3 fatty acids – the good fats) that have been shown to lower LDL cholesterol. Eating walnuts while you play can help improve brain function and improve your focus while you play golf.

For Stronger Bones: Eat Celery

Strong bones are essential to a strong body. Increasing your strength will not only help prevent injuries on the golf course, but will also help you hit the ball longer. Celery contains sodium that helps feed bones to make them stronger. If you are deficient in sodium, your body will pull its reserves from your bones, making them brittle. A long hot day on the golf course can dehydrate your body and weaken your bones. Keep your bones strong and your swing powerful by eating a few celery sticks during your round.
