If you are like most golfers, you probably own an oversized driver. Titanium and graphite have allowed club manufactures to build larger, lighter and longer drivers with clubheads measuring as much as 460 cubic centimeters.

The bigger head and sweet spot allow for more distance and forgiveness. But with a larger clubhead, you will need to tee the ball up higher than you did with your older smaller driver.

Ideally, you want to catch the ball with an upwards blow at impact. To do so you should tee the ball up so that at least three-quarters of the ball is above the clubhead. This position will encourage a sweeping or upwards motion, which will cause the ball to fly farther.

Teeing the ball higher will help get the best results from your oversized driver.

Tee the ball so that three-quarters of the ball is above the clubhead.
